All Aboard the Choo Choo Train

My "friend", Lindsay, (laughing @ my quotes, only she will get it) did a post one time about tooting her own horn. I am going to do that...again. My last post was tooting too. I took pics of some pages that I did a while ago...holy cow, it's been over a year! I liked these pages the best. After seeing some of the Layouts that people have sent for the E.A.D. creative team, I'm feeling a little inferior. So I'm dying to get down and scrapbook some fantastic pages. But instead I'm blogging. I was going to send some of these into a contest but didn't do it. Alot of those contests like a lot of Journaling. I never know what to journal on my pages...I need to do better. So make nice comments so I don't go kill myself using my cricut! LOL

This LO of Sophie is my typical style...a strip of photos on the bottom, side or top and a bigger pic as the main focus. A lot of my LO's are like this because I want to use more than one pic on a page (Unless it's a big pic). So when I did the next bunch of LO's I was proud of myslef for trying something different.

McKinley took these pictures of Brockston. It still makes me laugh cuz I didn't know she had the camera until I loaded these pics on the computer.

I had a bunch of little pics of the girls at their concerts. I didn't want to do multiple pages cuz they were so small in each of those photos. Just so you know, I get my ideas from books, online etc. I very rarely have an origional idea.

This is un-common for me to scrap one pic on a page. I was scrapbooking one time and the girls wanted to do it with me. So I set them up next to me with their own little make-shift desks and had Glade take our picture. It is a fun memory for me. See...why can't I put that on the page?

So there you have it. I need to know how to photograph pages better. I don't know what the tricks are. My scanner isn't that big. So if you have any tips, let me know! Thanks for lookin'!

Yea Me!

I finally designed something for my friend Emily's vinyl site and HERE it is! (Thanks for teaching me that Lindsay.)
I have never created something like that on my own and had a price on it. It makes me feel so important! I still feel inferior to the other designer but she is kind enough to tell me nice things!
So that's the first thing I've done for her and now I'm addicted!
We are starting a new scrapbook line that you can use instead of rub-ons. (Check out Emily's blog) I'm really excited about it cuz most rub-ons break apart and I have to try and fix it and it ends up looking horrible. Vinyl stays together and it will look better than rub-ons. I have tried to do a rub on
on top of my photo that is attached to my page and you can see the break in the rub on with the different layers. (does that make sense?) Anyway, vinyl won't do that! Excitement!
Okay, there's my sales pitch. If you have any suggestions, let me know! Can't wait to show you what we come up with...when we come up with more.
No pics for this post but wait for the next one. I've been instructed to take pics of some of my scrapbook pages. I'm a naturally obedient person (sarcasm is a gift!) so I'm going to do it. I just like people telling me how wonderful I am, that's closer to the truth.

Happy Birthday Kevin!

This is my baby brother, Kevin. His birthday is on the 17th, yep, St. Patty's day. He is serving a mission in Africa and having a great time! Well, that's what he tells us. Seriously, he has sent home lots of pictures of the beautiful people there and I just know he loves them. He has lost some weight and I can understand why. When he comes home, I'm taking him out for prime rib!

Happy Birthday Brockston!

It was Brockston's birthday yesterday and it was a fun day. I had fun hangin out with him. He keeps me laughing! I like age 4...potty trained, you can reason with them (somewhat), and learning is fun. I enjoyed my girls at this age too. Boys are different though. Everything is thrown! It's never just put down. And pretend play involves violence. (I didn't think Superman wanted to kill people, but yesterday, Brockston said he did.) He is a good boy~most of the time~I sure love this boy!

Pins & Needles

Update: We got a good appraisal...we are just in the process of making things work with our contractor...or another one. I hope we can start digging soon!

I don't have anything to really blog about. I just wanted to post a new post.
We will know our house situation by tomorrow and in the mean time I am sitting on pins and needles. Ouch!
http://zhouseplans.com/plans.htm?i=s1769kl01
Here is a link to our house plans. We have made a few changes to accomidate our wants but you get the picture. We aren't doing the bonus room so it is 1769 sq. ft. on the main and downstairs. It will be so nice to have 2 bathrooms and a place for all of us to sit at dinner! Does that mean I have to start cooking real dinners? Yikes! In all honesty, I am excited to be able to do that in my new kitchen.
But for now...tick, tock, tick, tock...

Man I'm HOT!

So I needed a pic of me for my friend Emily to put on her site. I am one of her new designers. Check out her site...it's the vinyl site on the right side of my blog. I haven't designed anything for her yet so she may get some of my ideas and decide to fire me.
McKinley took this picture of me. She did a pretty good job so I decided to post it! I guess I don't need Stacy anymore! Just kidding Stacy! Don't leave me...I love yooooou!!!!!!

Walking....help!

Ya, you heard me! Avrie took her first steps on Tuesday, Feb. 10th. She has been thinking about it since she has been standing for a couple of weeks, but actually started taking a couple steps on her own with no encouragement from anyone. So we decided to see how far she could go with some encouragement. It won't be long now before she is climbing up things and I am tying her up just to get something done. She is just so little! It's pretty cute to see but that doesn't mean I am okay with it. That means she won't be a baby anymore! She will be a toddler! Sniff...my last baby is growing up fast.

She's not my favorite kid...promise.

My baby is growing up. She will be 10 months on the 6th. I don't know her measurments or weight. I have a problem taking my baby into the Dr. when she's not sick. They get enough of my money. Although I am curious where she falls on the scale. So I will take her in when my curiosity reaches a $25 peak.

I have taken my kids pictures at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months, 2 years and every year after that. I was a couple weeks late on Avrie's 9 month. These were taken last week. (I wish that were my only flaw.)
Stacy, you did it again!

Ava Poo

Avrie Bear's first Spaghetti experience. As you can see, she loved eating it and playing with it. Man, she is growing up so fast! She is into EVERYTHING that she shouldn't and sometimes plays with the things that she should.

My little piece of Heaven

Isn't it beautiful? I just love to go down now and sit in my scrapbook room. I am all organized and now I can actually find things and get something done!
*So...the first pic is of my work space. Yep, I get the whole table all to myself. Unless Brockston wants to scrapbook with me, then he takes over the whole table. It's as if he was a born scrapper. It seems like that's how most people scrap. We need lots of space. There are actually a couple things on the table in this pic that need to be put away.
*Next we have my new chipboard letter system that was taken from my organizing book. I rarely have an original idea. I bought the little drawers at Walmart for $12.
*The 3rd pic is my magnet board that I made (pat, pat, pat...as in on the back) and I bought the tin containers at IKEA where-in are stored my brads; color coodinated. I have a couple things in other containers (Stampin Up! accessories...if you want anything, call me...I'll give you my discount) I just hot glued magnet strips on the back of them to make 'em stick to the board. I am a genius!
*And my most recent splurge is the clip it up organizer you see in pic number 4. It was a bit pricey (is that how you spell it) but I think well worth it. I have tons of ribbon on cardstock like spools, only not spools. You see them on the top...Sei and Stampin Up sells some like this. I also have a ton of ribbon that I bought just by the yard. So I wrapped them around cardboard strips by color and it looks cool if I do say so myself. I have also stored all of my rub-ons on the bottom tier, along with some chipboard shapes and stickers. It is a great storage system and allows me to keep a lot of things within reach and visable.
*Last but most definatly not the least are my fabulous paper storage racks and my new and improved flower jars. The paper is sorted by theme or time of year on one side and since I buy SEI at wholesale, I have the other side sorted by their individual lines. Next to my paper racks are my punches stored in the drawers. I am going to stick a punched item on front of the drawer that the punch lives so I know which drawer each punch is in.
I know...I am indeed wonder woman. I'm not going to tell you how long it took me to get this far. I'm going to let you all think that I did all this in a single afternoon!
